Our Team
Jessi Cherry
General Manager, President
Jessi's story is the story of Meridian Systems. She joined MSI in 2005 as an Administrative Assistant and spent the next two decades learning every corner of the building automation industry from the inside out. In 2023, she became the majority shareholder and President, completing a journey that is as much about the company as it is about her own tenacity and vision.
Under Jessi's leadership, MSI was nominated for Automated Logic's prestigious Dealership of the Year award in 2022, placing in the top 5 out of 185 dealerships worldwide. That same year, MSI was recognized as the 2023 recipient of Automated Logic's Outstanding Performance in a Small Market Award, a distinction that reflects the outsized impact MSI delivers for Alaska clients. She holds a LEED Green Associate Certification, served as President of ASHRAE Alaska, and has been recognized with the Achievement of Alaskan Leadership in Business award and the ASHRAE Presidential Award of Excellence. A passionate advocate for the industry and for Alaska, Jessi's hands-on leadership style sets the tone for everything MSI does.
Outside of the office, Jessi is a devoted Disney lover, enthusiastic crafter, and proud cat mom to Lemontine. She is also a dedicated wife to her husband Jesse, and yes, they do share the same name. It keeps things interesting. The same passion, creativity, and heart she brings to her personal life shows up every day at Meridian Systems, and the people around her are better for it.
Clint Wagner
Operations Manager, Vice-President
Clint Wagner grew up in Waldon, Arkansas, where hard work and getting your hands dirty were just part of life. That foundation followed him all the way to Alaska and straight into the building automation industry, where he started in the parts department and never stopped learning. Today, as Operations Manager and Vice President at Meridian Systems, Clint helps lead a company he has grown alongside for 15 years. That journey through every level of the controls industry, from DDC Technician to Senior Technician to his current leadership role, gives Clint a ground-up understanding of how buildings work and what it truly takes to keep them performing at their best.
With advanced certifications in Automated Logic WebCTRL and Tridium Niagara, deep expertise in variable frequency drive systems, and a track record that includes high-profile projects at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and the City and Borough of Juneau, Clint brings both technical depth and steady leadership to every project MSI undertakes. His proficiency in database creation, networking, and project management has been instrumental in some of MSI's most demanding and high-stakes work. Away from the job, Clint is a dedicated husband and father of two, and the same reliability and care he brings to his family shows up every single day for his team and his clients.
Gavin Brown
MSP Manager
Gavin brings over two decades of IT expertise to a field that increasingly depends on cybersecurity, networking, and data infrastructure to function. His background spans server management, SQL database administration, network architecture, and information security, all critical capabilities as building automation systems become more connected and more complex.
Certified in CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, and several advanced IT platforms, Gavin has also shared his knowledge as a presenter on cybersecurity and IT best practices. At MSI, he bridges the gap between cutting-edge technology and the real-world demands of DDC and building automation.
Matt Houchens
Field Operations Manager
Some people find their way to Alaska by chance. Matt Houchens came for the adventure and never looked back. Originally from Horsecave, Kentucky, with a background in automotive parts, Matt brought with him a natural instinct for systems thinking, technical precision, and a drive to understand how things work from the inside out. Those skills translated quickly at MSI. In just two years, he went from learning the fundamentals of Direct Digital Controls to leading field operations across the company, a trajectory that speaks volumes about his technical aptitude and his dedication to the craft.
What sets Matt apart isn't just how fast he mastered the technical side of the work. It's how he shows up for the people around him. Personable, caring, and genuinely passionate about MSI and the clients we serve, Matt leads by example and brings the best out of everyone on his team. He has fully embraced Alaska life and plans to put down roots here for the long term, and for MSI, that kind of commitment to the work, the team, and this state is exactly what we are built on.
Laura Tisserand
Service Coordinator
Ryan Crezee
Lead DDC Service Technician
Ryan came to building automation by way of a Fisheries and Wildlife Science degree from Oregon State, and that analytical background turns out to be a surprisingly good foundation for diagnosing complex control systems. In just over five years, he rose from DDC Technician Trainee to Lead Technician, a trajectory that reflects both his technical ingenuity and his instinct for problem-solving.
Whether he’s building sophisticated program logic, troubleshooting systems across government and commercial facilities, or mentoring the next generation of MSI technicians, Ryan brings curiosity and precision to everything he does.
If you’ve called MSI for service, you’ve likely spoken with Laura. As our primary point of contact for customers, Laura manages service coordination, scheduling, and first-line DDC troubleshooting with the kind of calm competence that comes from nine years in the role and a genuine investment in getting things right.
A graduate of Alaska Pacific University and a certified Automated Logic Trainer for Basic WebCTRL Classes, Laura is the connective tissue that keeps MSI’s service department running smoothly. Her Dedicated Service Award is well-earned.
Kim Provencher
Lead Direct Digital Control Designer
Kim’s background is unusually well-rounded, combining a degree in Mechanical Engineering, coursework in AutoCAD and Computer Science, and 18 years of hands-on experience in Direct Digital Controls and fire systems. That blend of technical depth and design expertise makes her an invaluable part of how MSI brings complex projects to life.
From developing design packages and performing quality assurance to directing subcontractors and managing project timelines, Kim keeps MSI’s construction projects moving with precision and care. Her Fundamentals of Engineering exam and Cybersecurity Certification reflect a commitment to staying sharp in a fast-evolving industry.
